NPHC/Earthwatch Arctic Team

National Projects Holding Company, a Kuwaiti company that has proven to be a regional leader in philanthropy and environmental activism, has partnered with Earthwatch Institute in sponsoring 5 individuals from the Middle East to join an expedition to the edge of the Arctic, to study the effects of Global Warming.

Equilibrium's Sandra Al-Saleh, was the first Kuwaiti to go on the earthwatch expedition to the Arctic in February of 2006. She describes it:

"This unique experience left me with no doubt that one of the most magical places on our planet is suffering from the pressure we have placed on the environment. Our continued indifference will mean that such beauty will remain under threat until we change our ways, or bid our natural wonders farewell."

And keep track of the current expedition team by checking into Jose Maria Figueres' blog, which he will be updating regularly while he is there.
